The Kiverstein Institute is focused on serving Jerusalem; I am a co-founder of Praying Together in Jerusalem; I am a member of my local chapter of Women Wage Peace and regularly stand on a corner to promote peace. This is for Jerusalem and the world.
Senior Fellow, Kiverstein Institute, where I have the privilege of supporting feminist activity in Jerusalem; Director of Educational Activities, the Elijah Interfaith Institute, to promote women in the interfaith arena; teacher - including the Beit Midrash of Shir Hadash, the Fuchsberg Center Oded Program (both in Jerusalem); radio broadcaster - weekly news from Israel on SBS radio, Australia.
My primary area of influence has been promoting women in religious leadership - not just in Judaism but in the interfaith arena - and this continues to be a great challenge. In my own Modern Orthodox community, I try to be a role-model and a teacher and I live with the dissonance. I will always speak up for and about women in Israel (and oppressed or disadvantaged women anywhere,) including on my weekly radio report from Jerusalem to Australia and in my blog-postings.
The Kiverstein Institute is the fulcrum of my professsional and voluntary work, keeping me focused on Jerusalem and on feminist issues. Other than that, Praying Together in Jerusalem is very important for me, especially now that we are meeting monthly on Zoom, enabling participation from around the world. I continue to work towards greater representation of women in religious and interreligious leadership. I am writing two books, one of which is focusing on women's contribution to the building of the State of Israel - not just the institutions of state but the society and culture.
I subscribe to "shine theory" - if you shine, I shine. When we support each other, we all are strengthened.
